The brief

I wanted a quiz that asks about concrete choices instead of party labels, then shows the result as a map and a six-dimension profile rather than a single verdict. It also had to point out where someone’s stated principles and policy answers conflict, and keep every answer in the browser.

What I built

  • Scenario questionnaire with a 30-question short route and a 60-question full route, per-question importance weights, and a path that carries short-route answers into the full version
  • Documented scoring model: weighted, normalized scores on six axes compared with 36 editorial reference points, with coverage rules before any match is shown
  • Original vector political atlas plotting economic ownership against political authority, plus a methodology page and sourced context notes for the scenarios
  • Consistency review with seven optional principle checks that flags direct conflicts between a stated rule and a policy answer, then lets people revise, qualify, or leave them
  • Optional identity step that compares a chosen tradition with the answer-based result on the map and every dimension
  • Browser-only design: progress stays in the current browser session, with no server storing answers and no cookies, plus an export file the user controls
  • Versioned question content, so returning users revisit only the answers a change affects
  • 77 unit tests for scoring, question integrity, consistency rules, identity, and session migration, plus end-to-end browser tests
